"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one."

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” — C.S. Lewis

Friendship is such an amazing thing! An intangible made up of tangibles! Friendship is very real, yet sometimes hard to describe. We couldn’t live without it, but what is it exactly. I like the C.S. Lewis quote. It is a form of recognition. A “what, you too?” about our observations and points of view on life. Kinship of heart and mind that comes when you really click with someone. It can come in an instant or take years to cultivate. There are lots of fast friendships on Twitter and many of them fade in time, but some last for years and develop into much more than a series of tweets, but answer a heart’s cry and become lifetime close and wonderful  friendships. I have that with @AliveinMe. She and I will always be friends, no matter what life may bring. Our outlook on life is surprisingly similar and I’m a bit older, but when we talk, even we can’t tell which of us is the senior or junior in the conversation except that she yells if I would ever bring it up! 🙂 She lives in Arizona about to move to Philadelphia. I live in Minnesota. We still don’t know when we’ll meet, but we will someday. For now we meet on Skype, Twitter and Facebook (oh and the iPhone) and consider ourselves blessed!

How many of you on Twitter have friends like these? Or Twitter friend you rush to talk to as often as possible, like in my case: @angels510, @CALLOMES, @DamienCripps, @SuuperG, @MASisMore, @RichardBejah, @RetiredTeacherD, @Bloget @nursemom90 and more! Friendly, wonderful, caring peeps with whom you have found that spark of recognition that says, “What you too?” and you are instantly friends! If you don’t yet, stick with Twitter, ‘cuz you will — and that’s what makes it all so fun!
